E-gift cards can be redeemed to purchase items online or offline through the company’s website or offline stores. They can be shared virtually and have a unique code that the receiver can provide to the website or store in exchange for products.
Amazon India launched its e-gift card store in 2014 with multiple e-gift cards from different companies. Since then, gift cards have been one of the best-sellers on the e-commerce marketplace during Diwali as per its website.

Amazon Pay e-gift card
The Amazon Pay e-gift card is the most selling gift card during Diwali. Valid for 365 days from the day of purchase, the cards come in the denominations of Rs10- Rs10,000. The gift cards are redeemable across all products on Amazon except certain global store products and other Amazon Pay gift cards. The Amazon Pay e-gift card is ranked 6th in the overall best-seller ranking on Amazon.
Big Basket e-gift card
The second highest selling gift card during Diwali, Big Basket e-gift cards are available in a price range of Rs100-Rs5,000. The gift cards can be redeemed on the Tata Group-owned online grocery store’s website and app. The entire amount of the gift card once redeemed will be reflected in the Big Basket account of the customer which then they can use to make purchases from the site.
Max e-gift card
The Max e-gift card is available in denominations of Rs. 100, Rs. 250, Rs. 500, Rs. 1000, Rs. 1500, Rs. 2000, Rs. 2500, Rs. 3000, Rs. 5000, Rs. 7500, Rs. 10,000. The card can be redeemed within 12 months of purchase. To redeem the card the customer has to share a 16-digit card number and 6-digit pin number with the cashier. The card can only be redeemed once in full. The customer can pay the difference with cash or a card if the value of the purchase exceeds the value of the e-gift card.
Lifestyle e-gift card
Lifestyle e-gift cards are available in the denomination of Rs1,000, Rs1,500, Rs2,000, Rs2,500, Rs 3,000, Rs 5,000, Rs 7,500 and Rs 10,000. Lifestyle is an omnichannel apparel brand owned by the Dubai-based conglomerate- The Landmark Group. The e-gift card can only be redeemed once at any Lifestyle outlet for the full amount. Currently, there are 77 Lifestyle stores in 44 cities across India.
