Bengaluru: French luxury fashion house Chanel has launched its first fragrance and beauty store in Mumbai, an industry official wrote on social media last week. Located at Phoenix Palladium mall, Lower Parel, Mumbai, it is the third Chanel Fragrance & Beauty outlet in the country.
“Chanel Fragrance & Beauty now at Phoenix Palladium. First in Mumbai with much more than ever before,” said Shailja Ruia, senior general manager – leasing at The Phoenix Mills Ltd. in a LinkedIn post while sharing images of the new store.
The other Chanel Fragrance & Beauty stores in India are located at two New Delhi shopping centres of Select CityWalk Mall at Saket and DLF Promenade Mall, Vasant Kunj.
Chanel was founded in 1910 by French fashion designer Coco Chanel in Paris and opened her first millinery boutique in 1913. From clothing, the company expanded to fragrances, handbags, watches and jewellery. The brand is most famous for its “little black dress”, the Chanel No. 5 perfume and the Chanel Suit.
Currently, Chanel is owned by Alain and Gerard Wertheimer, grandsons of Pierre Wertheimer, who was an early business partner of Coco Chanel.
