Lulu Group’s Managing Director M. A. Yusuf Ali announced on the sidelines of the ongoing Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024
New Delhi: Multinational Conglomerate Lulu Group International has announced the construction of the largest shopping mall in Ahmedabad this year, as per media reports.
According to the reports, M. A. Yusuff Ali, chairman and managing director of LuLu Group International was speaking to agencies on the sidelines of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024.
“We are going to construct India’s largest shopping mall in Ahmedabad. We will begin it this year itself,” said M. A. Yusuff Ali, managing director of LuLu Group International.
Media reports further reveal that the UAE-based retailer plans to invest an estimated Rs 4,000 crore in building the mall.
The Lulu Group official spokesperson whom IndiaRetailing reached out for details declined to add anything to the company MD’s statement.
IndiaRetailaling had earlier reported that the Lulu Group plans to launch two new malls in Chennai, Ahmedabad and six neighbourhood centres in Kerala.
In the last year, the company launched two new malls in Hyderabad in Telangana and Palakkad in Kerala. At present, the group has malls in Palakkad, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Triprayar, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Hyderabad and Coimbatore.
Headquartered in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, Lulu Group International was founded in 2000 by Kerala-based M. A. Yusuff Ali. It operates a chain of malls, hypermarkets and retail companies across GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) countries, Egypt, Malaysia, Indonesia and India. Currently, Lulu Group has more than 250 hypermarkets and 25 shopping malls across 22 nations.
