Agarwal will move to a newly created role of national business development head at Levi’s
New Delhi: Abhinav Agarwal, director of business development at Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Ltd. (ABFRL) has quit his job and is moving to Levi Strauss India as the head of business development (BD), according to sources.
One of the persons familiar with the development said Agarwal is joining Levi Strauss on Monday, 15 January and will be based in Bengaluru.
“Levi’s so far used to have regional business development heads and this is a newly created post of national BD head,” the person said asking not to be named.
With the move, Agarwal will end his three-year stint at ABFRL where he has been instrumental in the expansion of the company’s brands including Pantaloons, Louis Philippe, Van Heusen, Allen Solly, Peter England, and Reebok among other brands from the ABFRL’s portfolio. Before joining ABFRL, Agarwal was a senior manager for expansion at French sportswear giant Decathlon.
The US-based company behind iconic Levi’s jeans entered India about three decades ago and currently operates around 400 stores in the country. Lately, the company has been expanding fast, focusing on large flagship stores.
