Situated at EA Mall in Triplicane and VR Mall near Anna Nagar and Koyambedu, this expansion marks Gopizza’s entry into the state of Tamil Nadu
Bengaluru: South Korean pizza brand Gopizza has launched its two new stores in Chennai, the company said in a press release on Tuesday. Situated at EA Mall in Triplicane and VR Mall near Anna Nagar and Koyambedu, this expansion marks Gopizza’s entry into the state of Tamil Nadu.
“We are thrilled to be bringing Gopizza to the wonderful city of Chennai. We are confident that our menu will be a success with the local community and we look forward to being a part of the city’s thriving food scene” said Mahesh Reddy, chief executive officer of Gopizza India.
The restaurants will offer a range of Korean delights, such as pizzas, ramyun, chicken wings, pops, wedges and pastas starting from Rs 99.
Currently, Gopizza operates 45 stores in Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The brand aims to establish over 100 operational outlets nationwide by the end of 2024. The impending grand opening of its outlet at the Phoenix Palladium contributes to the brand’s growing presence in Chennai.
“Tamil Nadu is a key strategic growth market for us and we are looking at opening 50 new outlets together in the next two years,” added Reddy.
The company started out as an idea from founder Jae Won (Jay) Lim’s food truck in South Korea and now it has more than 200 stores across South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, India, and Hong Kong.
The AI-powered food tech brand takes pride in its innovation such as the in-house developed, state-of-the-art technology Goven that cooks every pizza to perfection, and Gobot – a cooperative robot equipped with an AI smart topping table to ensure every slice is the same size and has an equal amount of toppings and sauce distribution.
After recently raising Rs 200 crore in the Series C funding, Gopizza is about to bring its food technologies to more locations. It aims to establish outlets in Pune, Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and other tier 2 cities including Chandigarh, Jodhpur, Jaipur and Kochi, in the next few years.
Globally, it is now looking to open into new markets of Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and the United States.
