Bengaluru: Swedish fashion brand Hennes & Mauritz (H&M) has opened its 62nd store in India in Kerala, a social media post by a company official said on Wednesday. Located at Prestige Forum Mall, Kochi, it is the second H&M outlet in the city.
“Starting the new Indian fiscal year with a boom! H&M just opened its second store in Kochi at Prestige Forum Mall. This expansion is a testament to the brand’s commitment to growth and providing customers with elevated fashion in India,” Louis Coucke, country controller – India at H&M, said in a LinkedIn post.
First H&M store in Kochi is situated in Edappally.
In the last few weeks, the fast-fashion retailer expanded its footprint across the country with two more new stores located in Pune and Siliguri.
The Swedish fashion brand H&M was founded by Erling Persson in 1947.
In October 2015, the brand entered the Indian market and now stands with 62 stores across over 30 cities in the country, according to its official website. H&M also offers an online shopping experience through its website, app and also through fashion e-commerce company Myntra.
In 2023 itself, the brand entered new cities like Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Patna and Mangalore.
In January, the retailer appointed Daniel ErvĂ©r as its new president and chief executive officer (CEO) followed by the stepping down of its previous CEO Helena Helmersson.Â
