New Delhi: French luxury fashion brand Maison Margiela Fragrances has entered India in partnership with Shoppers Stop and L’Oréal International Distribution, according to a social media post. The first store of the fashion major is located at Jio World Drive, Mumbai.
“Exciting news! Maison Margiela has officially arrived in India at Jio World Drive, thanks to the incredible partnership with L’Oréal International Distribution. Unveiling a world of niche luxury fragrance experiences,” wrote Biju Kassim, chief executive officer – beauty, Shopper Stop, in a LinkedIn post while sharing photos of the new store.
The fashion brand is headquartered in Paris and was founded in 1988 by Belgian designer Martin Margiela. It produces both high-end fashion collections and ready-to-wear collections. Product lines include womenswear, menswear, fine jewelry, footwear, accessories, leather goods, objects, fragrances, and home goods, among others. The brand is also known for its fashion shows held in unusual settings like empty metro stations and street corners.
Shoppers Stop was established in 1991 by property developer K Raheja Corp with its first store in Andheri, Mumbai. The retailer forayed into the beauty segment with the launch of SS Beauty in 2020.
L’Oréal International Distribution is a multi-brand division of the L’Oréal Group which mainly works with regional or national distributors.
In June, 2023, Shoppers Stop inked an exclusive distribution partnership with L’Oréal International Division, under its subsidiary Global SS Beauty Brands Limited.
