India teenagers up cosmetic spend

According to a survey by the Assocham Chamber of Commerce, the male teenagers in India are reportedly spending more than Rs 4,000 per month on cosmetics as there has been a jump in publicity. The survey indicates that the rise in spending compares with average spending of less than a quarter of this amount per month in the year 2000. Around 65 percent of teenagers interviewed said their cosmetics consumption had risen by some 50 percent in the last ten years.
