Simar’s Nail Bar in Khan Market, New Delhi had a formal opening in January, a month after it opened its doors to give customers a premium nail experience. This is the second outlet for the group, with another location at Select CityWalk Mall, Saket.
The 400 square foot space is a plush area with three manicure, pedicure and massage black chairs, especially designed for this experience and four work stations for nails. It is a unisex salon, with special recommendations for men.
Simar Sukhija, after whom the nail bar is named, has been in this space for the last eight years and believes this market is seeing an explosive growth which will continue into this year. Basic trends to watch out for: bright colors, squarish nails with rounded tips, lots of nail art and definitely extensions, she says. An important factor is the retail area at the beginning of the store, where OPI and Sally Hansen products are arranged in an attractive display. Also, the prominent position to the sanitizing unit. “One of the most important areas to pay attention to is hygiene. That is the area to be extremely quality conscious,” she comments.
