Videocon has entered consumer durables retailing space through NEXT. NEXT is the new version of Plugin Sales, which was owned by Raymond’s group and bought by Videocon group latter.
This move has put the company in a bit of a tight spot, by this move it doesn’t want to rub its other partners like Vivek’s, Vijay Sales or Sony Mony the wrong way. Plugin sales opened first in 2002, but failed to generate the response it expected. Though sources in Videocon say that this is just one of the investment moves and there is nothing more to this.
