Tata Coffee brews fresh retail plan

Tata Coffee is set to expand its coffee chain, Mr Bean Coffee Junction. The company is planning to set up five franchised Mr Bean outlets by the end of this fiscal in Cochin, Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore.

According to unconfirmed reports the company will also phase out its earlier retail format, Coorg Coffee Works. There are around 39 Coorg outlets in south India. Tata Coffee also plans to focus on the vending machines business. It has 7,000 machines, and 80 per cent of the sales are in the institutional segment. The vending machines currently run under the brand name Jiffy, but will shortly be rechristened Mr Bean.
