In an attempt to emerge as a complete bathroom solutions major, the Rs 450 crore Kajaria Ceramics, manufacturer of ceramic floor and wall tiles, is planning to foray into the sanitaryware segment.
“We are in the process of identifying an overseas partner who we can outsource the manufacturing to. The idea is to be a complete bathroom solutions company that would not only do the ceramic flooring and walls, but also offer sanitaryware like taps, showers and toilet WC,” said Prakash Guddad, president, marketing, Kajaria Ceramics.
The company is also contemplating manufacturing sanitaryware at its existing factories in India; or else, it will set up a separate manufacturing unit exclusively for sanitaryware.
To extend its presence in the retail market the company is in the process of opening five more Kajaria World showrooms.
The new stores will be located in Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad and Nagpur. It already has Kajaria World showrooms in Gurgaon, Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Bangalore and Kolkata.
These showrooms are spread over 2,500 square feet on an average, offering consumers more than 200 designs to do their own mix-n-match styles.
