Munish Baldev, the former chief executive officer of Ansal Group, has joined Indiabulls as the group president.
“As president of Indiabulls, the canvas is much bigger and I am looking forward to integrate my past experience with the vision of the promoters,” said Baldev.
In another of his earlier assignments, Baldev headed the retail division of Unitech Group, where he played a vital role in development of two large-format properties – Metro City Walk Amusement Centre in Rohini and The Great India Place mall in Noida.
Indiaretailing had earlier reported that Indiabulls Real Estate (IBREL) had acquired 63.9 per cent stake in Piramyd Retail.
Ikroop Singh, CEO, Indiabulls Wholesale Ltd, issued a statement saying, “This acquisition clearly highlights Indiabulls’ plans to be a leader in the retail industry in India, by making sure that we are present in all the major retail verticals. With this acquisition, Indiabulls will have strong presence across wholesale/cash-and-carry, lifestyle and convenience store formats. We aim to provide the Indian shopper the best-possible value for their money.”
The latest move to bring on-board a person with in-depth retail experience indicates that Indiabulls have something big in reserve for the retail sector.
