Big Bazaar, the retail arm of Kishore Biyani-led Future Group’s Pantaloon Retail India Ltd, has recently signed up as a hyper tenant in the upcoming V Square mall in Bhiwadi.
Spread over an area of around two lakh square feet of retail space, the mall is being developed by VVA Developers Pvt Ltd and is located at Bhiwadi-Alwar highway in Rajasthan.
Speaking to Indiaretailing, Vivek Jain, director, VVA Developers Pvt Ltd, said, “Big Bazaar has signed for a retail space of around 35,000 square feet, which is located at the lower ground floor of the mall.”
“We are in talks with prestigious multiplex operators and food chains to bring them into our mall and we are also focusing on the lease-based model,” added Jain.
Rajan Malhotra, chief executive officer, Big Bazaar, also confirmed this development, but he did not disclose any further detail.
The mall is slated to be operational by 2010.
