Metro C&C to open retail outlets in Punjab

German retail major, Metro Cash and Carry will open its first retail outlet in Zirakpur town, Punjab on January 15. The opening of the outlet is part of the company’s plans to invest up to Rs 9 billion in the state in the coming months, according to company officials.

Metro Cash and Carry plans to establish a chain of wholesale distribution cum retail centers in different districts of the state. The company plans to open other outlets in Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Amritsar and Mohali districts, added a company official.

Metro Cash and Carry has over 600 centres in 29 countries. In India, it has its stores in Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Mumbai.
