Harman International expects double-digit growth in India

Harman International, one of the global majors in manufacturing audio and electronic products for automotive, consumer and professional use, has planned to strengthen its retail operation in India. As part of the plan, the company opened an outlet in the national capital.

“We are looking at a double-digit growth every year. From our current business of around USD 50 million, we want to grow to USD 250-300 million over the next five years,” quoted Dinesh C Paliwal, chairman and CEO of Harman International Industries in Mint. “We are getting all the brands to India and the year 2009 will be a challenging year in terms of strategic planning.”

With 35 manufacturing facilities across the globe, the company will think of manufacturing in India in future. Meanwhile Paliwal informed that the company may start doing some assembly work in the country soon.
