Keeping in view to strengthen the company’s global operations, India’s major tea manufacturer Tata Tea’s board of directors have decided to relocate its managing director PT Siganporia to company’s UK firm Tata Tea (GB) Inc in London.
According to company’s latest disclosure to Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE), Siganporia would continue to be the managing director to Tata Tea and would also be responsible for global manufacturing operations. Further, he will also handle the buying, blending, supply chain and related activities.
Tata Tea and Tata Tea (GB) offerings caters specifically to the Australian, Middle East, West Asia, North Africa, Poland, Russia and Kazakhstan markets. This is independent from manufacturing and supply operations of its Tetley and other subsidiary companies. Tetley Group has been a member of the Tata Group since March 2000 and now contributes around two thirds of the total turnover of Tata Tea.
