Retailer Trent Ltd expects to add upto 11 ‘Star Bazaar’ stores by March 2011 taking its store count to 18 from the current seven, a senior official told reporters on Thursday (Jan 21).
“We are looking to add two stores by the end of this fiscal. We would open 7-9 stores next fiscal in a couple of new cities,” Gordon Reid, chief operating officer said, adding he’d spend about 70 million rupees to set up one ‘Star Bazaar’ store.
Star Bazaar is a hypermarket chain.
Reid also said same-store sales were up 41 percent in April-Dec 2009 over the same period the year ago.
