“I am delighted to welcome Peter to his new role at SAP India,” said Duarte. “India is amongst the leading subsidiaries for SAP globally with over 4,300 customers and SAP India is poised for the next phase of growth. With such great leadership at the helm, I am confident that the India team will continue to sustain its industry leadership position in the market.”

SAP India will now collaborate with EMEA to respond rapidly and flexibly to customers’ changing business requirements, optimise growth opportunities, natural trade flows and synergies among the countries. EMEA has a wealth of resources that India can leverage to enhance best practices. With this combination, SAP expects to swiftly strengthen its customer focus, and bring innovation for long-term sustainable growth to its customers in every industry, market and customer engagement.

Gartenberg and Goyal will now focus on operational excellence and resource optimisation, in order to ensure that customers derive maximum value from SAP offerings.

“SAP has a deep commitment to India. I am convinced that SAP, together with public and private enterprises, can play a vital role in enabling India to realise its potential,” said Gartenberg. “Our solutions address the most relevant issues confronting India today, such as resource losses and under utilisation of assets in the core sectors of India’s economy. I look forward to working with our excellent team to further strengthen SAP’s focus on delivering customer value and accelerating innovation together with our customers.”
