AWARDS METHODOLOGY

The awards selection process comprised three verticals. First, a Consumer Satisfaction Index survey by IRIS Retail Intelligence conducted across 50-odd leading retailers across categories. For the first time ever, Exit interviews were conducted across different store formats in major metros. A mixed sample size was taken into consideration irrespective of whether shopping had been carried out inside or not. Close to four thousand interviews were conducted across India.

The next vertical was an expert panel ranking. Prominent professionals from consulting and retail real estate firms were invited to rate various retailers on the basis of their viewpoints

Finally, self nominations were received from over 200 retailers, outlining their key achievements and performance benchmarks.

This massive polling process was choreographed by our process partner IRIS RETAIL INTELLIGENCE.

Based on these rankings, a second phase of the selection involved matching votes against actual performance statistics. Once the alignment was completed, nominees were finalised on the basis of a 360 degree approach that included quantitative and qualitative performance.

This year, greater weightage was given to what the consumers had to say at the 4000 exit interviews conducted across the country. The nominees emerged from these scores…

This final list of nominees with their scores, was further analysed in detail by an eminent jury panel consisting of Harish Bijoor, Prof P.K. Sinha, Anuj Puri, Pranay Sinha, S Raghunandan, Arif Sheikh, Anurag Mathur and Jayant Kochar.
