Fashion marketplace Voonik Technologies Pvt. Ltd, which operates the fashion app Voonik, said in a statement on Friday that it had acquired styling and personalization app Dekkoh for an undisclosed amount.
This is the sixth acquisition for Voonik after having acquired Zohraa, Picksilk, Styl, TrialKart and Getsy in recent months.
Voonik CEO and co-founder Sujayath Ali said, “We will use their (Dekkoh) expertise in further strengthening our personalization engine. There is a great synergy between the Voonik and Dekkoh platforms and we are happy to onboard a talented team.”

“Voonik is built around personalised fashion, to provide every customer a solution and opportunity to be fashionable every day. Personalisation is what has set us miles ahead of competition,” he added.
“We believe personalisation is the future of online fashion. Voonik is the ideal platform that will help us scale up our offering to 15 million customers across the country,” said Aditya Chalasani, co-founder of Dekkho.

Voonik’s core app, which caters to women, has been downloaded 10 million times, has 15 million registered users and has recorded the highest engagement among shopping apps. On the supply side, it has more than 1.5 million products from more than 20,000 sellers.
The portal recently entered the premium e-commerce segment – with the launch of Vilara – after acquiring Zohraa, a marketplace for designers and boutiques. With Vilara, the company claims to bring over 1000 boutiques in one place.
The company also foresees a huge potential in a men’s only marketplace, evident in the launch of Mr Voonik in April 2016 – a fashion marketplace and app dedicated to men’s fashion. The company claims that the app has already surpassed its milestone targets for the first eight weeks of operations.
With over two lakh products listed and 3,5000 plus sellers available on Mr Voonik already, the fashion marketplace is set to grow exponentially.
Voonik is also planning to launch its own private brands in the next three months. Presently the fashion e-tailer is in the process of readying itself with various aspects of creating a private label including sourcing of material.
Fresh Funding
In June this year, Voonik Technologies raised $20 million (Rs 133 crore) in a fresh round of funding.
The latest round was primarily led by the Bengaluru-based startup’s existing backer, Sequoia Capital, with Seedfund, also an early backer of the firm, and a clutch of new investors participating as well.
